Re: The Dark Eldar
New codex or not, an army only plays as well as the person using it. Also have to take dice rolls into consideration. Good roles, good game. Bad rolls, bad game. It's that simple in my opinion.

Re: The Dark Eldar
I am still reading the codex. Unlike other codices which have had obvious loopholes and cracks and potential for being "broken", the DE codex doesn't look that way. There are some potentially nasty things about the army...but the army is going to take a LOT of book keeping and keeping things straight. I am looking forward to seeing the army in action...but I think a lot of people will get frustrated playing it. There seems to be a lot of thinking and strategy involved.

Re: The Dark Eldar
I do hope that people can over time get a good handle on the army's playing style. They are a deadly army but if used poorly, it'll be shot to pieces or trampled. It would be nice to see Dark Eldar players, the vets from a while ago to new Dark Eldar players! I already have a feelings I will be seeing a lot of Lelith!

I'm intrigued by the pain tokens. It seems like an interesting way to do things.

But I can foresee many arguments of poorly kept book keeping on account of the pain tokens. I'm surprised GW didn't make special pain tokens to squeeze a few extra $$ out of people.

Mitton and I were discussing this just the other day...and the idea that future armies might also use tokens of some sort. The thing that seems like a nightmare to keep track of is the combat drugs. As if keeping track of an IG shooting phase wasn't difficult enough.

Re: The Dark Eldar
you only roll 1 time on the combat drug chart. All models with the combat drug rule gets that one roll. Unless you bring the special Character that allows you to roll 2 dice.

Hey i both agree with that statment and resent it....its not my fault everyone has like a freaking gun of death compared to my bagilion or so guns that will hopefully harm you.......i know its annoying but hey if it gets the job done, it gets the job done.......know i have to figure out the combanation............END thought!!!!!

Re: The Dark Eldar
It's not really the multi-weapons in a squad we were talking about but the actual pain tokens.

I think if the DE player had common sense, they will figure out how to keep track of both pain tokens and combat drugs; ie: giant dice, beads for tokens, or simple pen and paper, i know i will attempt it

I was thinking that one could glue a piece a metal under the base & have small magnets that you add or that have a dot of color to represent the # of tokens. This way they would stay with the units as you moved them.
& I can Sooo see Kroot getting "Feeding Tokens" in the next Tau book.
Re: The Dark Eldar

Did they fair well? How many did you lose to shooting? I wish I could have stayed to watch, would have liked to pick up some pointers.

Re: The Dark Eldar
Christan's Flamer throwers did a number. We had 2 bikes left with full pain tokens. My Wych squad with full pain tokens and my archon and incubi alive hunting down Tylers Stuff. We only one because it was objective based and we took out most the troops. There were a few mistakes Nick and I made. Comes with new armies. Cant wait to try them out again next week.
