Outflanking Combat Squads
Ok so here's a question, a tactical squad that has the option to outflank splits into combat squads,( one side with a transport and the other side has a heavy weapon) can one side deploy normally and the other outflank? I don't think it's possible but I wanted to make sure. The SM codex says that the choice to split squads is made at the start of deployment and the only exception are drop pods. Thanks in advance.

That is not covered in the FAQ but yes you can. As the squad still has the outflank rule. You can even split combat squads and put both halves in reserve.

So units that split into combat squads don't have to be deployed the same way? Here's another example, can an assault squad that split deploy one half normally and the other in deepstrike? Sorry for all the questions I just wanted to clear that up before 'Ardboys. Thanks

As far as I understand they can. Although I would ask mike directly before you do this. Seeing he is the final say.

Re: Outflanking Combat Squads
im pretty sure that wen the unit splits it counts as 2 separate units from then on... and if the rule says before the deployment begins then i dont see y not
Re: Outflanking Combat Squads
There is no reason to say they can't. A squad that splits into combat squad still has all the special abilities of that unit.

Re: Outflanking Combat Squads
If Im not mistaken, when a squad splits into battle squads it is treated as separate squads. since the option to split is done at the time of deployment, then ALL deployment options (except for drop pods as listed) are available to each battle squad to choose from as they desire without regard to the choice of the other squad.
