since we kinda forgot where the topic went i have a question, is there anything i can use to take a look at certain models and preview how they would look using different paint schemes. like a model viewer or something like dawn of war has without having to get the game?

I once came across a site that had something like that.
It let you try out different color schemes, But it was for a static drawing of a marine.

Much like the old Index Astartes White Dwarf articles.

Other than that I would look for something similar to a skin generator for computer games

This is the web site for the trying out paint schemes on Marines. It can be a bit tedious but it has some nice results. Good luck.
