Intro to Apocalypse

Event: Introductory Apocalypse


Date: 01/28/2012


Time: Sign-in at 10:00am, First turn starts 11:00am


Format: Each player may field up to 2,500pts. A minimum of 1,500pts must consist of Codex-legal units in valid Force Organization Charts(you may field multiple FOC detachments from the same or different codexs, but each FOC must be valid). The remainder may consist of other Codex-legal, Forge World or Apocalypts units or formations. No Str D weapons or home-brew datasheets are permitted for this introductory game.
RSVP and list submission to either Mike Longo, gaming manager at Comix Zone or David Swanick (davidswanick@juno.com) no later than 8pm, 1/21/2012


Entry Fee: Free, space is limited.

The event schedule is forming up like this -
11am - deployment begins
12am - break for lunch
1:00pm - round 1 starts
2:30pm - round 2 starts
3:30pm - round 3 starts
4:30pm - round 4 starts
5:30pm - break for dinner
6:30pm - round 5 starts
7:00pm - round 6 starts

Over the next few days I will post up models, units, and formations I have at my disposal that I can lend to anyone needing to make up a few extra points. If you want to borrow anything on this list it'll be first come/first served with preference given to balancing out the opposing sides.
Available units:
> 1 Hellhammer super-heavy tank w/ extra side sponsons - 600pts (Apocalypse rulebook, pg.105)
> 1 Suppression force (1 Land Speeder Typhoon & 3 Whirlwinds) - 380pts (Apocalypse rulebook, pg.116)
> 1 Space Wolves "Wolf-marked" Dreadnought w/Dreadnought Wolf Claws - 125pts (counts as: BA Furiosos w/Blood Talons)
> 1 Emperor's Wrath artillery battery of 3 Basilisks - 400pts (Apocalypse, pg.109)
> Adeptus Arbites detachment of 1 Judge, 5 Arbites armed with Power weapons and Combat Shields, and 2 10-man squads armed with Bolters and a Plasma Pistol - counts as whatever you can come up with.
> An Ogryn Auxilia, each with a Commissar and all mounted in Chimeras - 750pts plus Command squad and Commisar upgrades.

I will be there if I am not working. Don't have my schedule that far into the future yet.

If i have a Deathstrike Missle can i bring it and use it as a Vortex Warhead missile?

For this intorductory game, I'm avoiding anything Str D or worse (Vortex included).

After we've gotten new players used to the flow of an Apocalypse game and into the mindset that every unit is expendable - then we can start bringing out the super-killy units. (Believe me when I say, I'm really jonesing to get my Titans on the table again).

that meens i will be able to bring out the defense laser later... though doubt we will have the table room for it

Mike told me last night he has had five people express interest in this. So looks like we'll have a full house.

So does that mean that there is no more room or that it will be very large? Cause i know that MentalKombat, a friend of mine/person on the fourms here want's to play and that i can generate at least enough points to make 2 full lists and have him play one...would that be ok?

It menas that there is definitely enough interest to make this event a go. Absolutely, make your friend a list - the more the merrier.

Papa Nurgle....quick i have over 40,000 deathstrike missles with vortex warheads.....curse them with pestialance and these titans will stand no chance against use lolol.
