Clint Eastwood mostly played the role of Guys who were once good but have been pushed to (or Over) the edge of being bad. He throws out the code & made his own rules.

And for that Clint would win. He would do what ever is needed while The Duke maintains his code.

Clint would clean the floor with John Wayne. No doubt about it. All Clint has to do is glare at you with his steely squint. (Watch as he talks with the land baron LaHood in Pale Rider) If the squint didn't get you, he would rattle off some bad a** line before he blows your head off with his .44 mag. (Watch any of the 5 Dirty Harry films) or any other gun he has in his hands (He should have armed himself if he's gonna decorate his saloon with my friend). Clint's characters are all basically good guys that have gotten fed up with all the red tape that government blowhards have come up with. So he bends the rules and treats his "punks" the way our real life policemen should be able to. (Well, I'm all broken up about that man's rights.) Another classic line. And Clint is the only actor who has ever been quoted by a President of the U.S. Even Chuck Norris can't claim that. Man, I could go on with this for a long time but nuff said. Clint over the Duke anyday, anytime.

And for the record John Wayne and Clint Eastwood are BOTH real people and also movie actors.
